About Chilliwack Community Church
Who we are
The Salvation Army in Chilliwack serves the community through two ministry centers: the Chilliwack Community Church and the Care and Share Centre. Through these ministries, we provide a wide range of social services including a Food Bank, emergency shelter, Soup Kitchen, and Homeless Outreach programs.
We are proud members of the Chilliwack Chamber of Commerce, the Canadian Association of Food Banks, and the Chilliwack Ministerial Association. As a registered charity, we offer receipt-granting privileges for income tax purposes. All of our programs and ministries are available to anyone in need, regardless of race, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, status, or age.
Our history
The Salvation Army has been serving the Chilliwack community since 1924. For over a century, our mission has remained focused on meeting both spiritual and practical needs through compassionate service, community partnership, and faithful ministry.

Our team
Meet the dedicated team who serve our church and community with compassion and commitment.
Majors Matt and Fiona Kean
Majors Matt & Fiona Kean have been Salvation Army officers since 2010 and served as ministry leaders in Australia until 2018. They moved to Canada in July of that year and God’s call upon their lives is now being fulfilled here in Chilliwack. Their highest priority is to show people the love and power of Jesus Christ, to help them understand the wonder of His gospel, and to encourage them to trust their whole life to Him.
They want The Salvation Army to be seen throughout the world as a movement for God’s glory that will always help anyone in need. They also have three young children who bring them much joy and keep them very busy outside work.
